Our second event bringing together experts, industry representatives, consumers and activists on World Water Day 2019
Water matters!
By 2030, global demand for clothing is expected to increase by 60%, despite efforts to increase the amount we purchase with concept like capsule wardrobes and minimalist wardrobes. While both are popular in the West, the Global South is experiencing increasing prosperity and fashion remains important. It will continue to rise in significance, but we must also be aware of its environmental impact. To do this, we need to understand natural water cycles, the relationship between our consumption and the lack of fresh water in other countries, and innovations that can help. In order to present those topics to a wider audience, we invited Berlin’s sustainable fashion crowd to a special World Water Day event.
Watch the two panels on:
(1) Climate Change and Population Growth: Fashion gains in importance but so does water
(2) Organic, fair, sustainable & water-saving: Why Responsible Fashion will be the next big thing
