The Water Playbook

What Does Your Wardrobe Have to Do with Water Scarcity?

Our Water Playbook playfully and clearly shows how clothing production consumes and pollutes water – and how this relates to the global water crisis.

THE PROBLEM

Many people and companies have little awareness of how significantly our textile production impacts global water resources. The immediate consequences of this consumption are felt primarily by the populations of production countries and their ecosystems.

What remains invisible in the store affects us all: The Water Playbook shows students, consumers, and companies how our consumption and production behaviors are connected to global environmental and justice issues. By understanding how clothing is produced and its effects on water and people in other countries, we can act more consciously and help drive change.

OUR SOLUTION

The Water Playbook

The Water Playbook is an interactive educational platform available in three versions for students, consumers, and companies. It features engaging explainer videos, a water footprint calculator, and clear texts and graphics. Discover how the textile supply chain works, the role of different materials, why water justice and the human right to water are important, and get practical tips for more sustainable consumption.
